Our first collie came in
to our home in 1993. It was
Abergavenny’s Highland Queen, petname Hayca, a sable and white bitch out of Mirpet Sunset Cracker and Baden
Court Hony Soit Qui Mal Y Pense. Unfortunately Hayca became ill and died at
the age of three. See also,
"Remembrance".
With Hayca our love for this breed started. This
resulted in the arrival of our second bitch
Her Majesty from the
Coastal Town
(Malouine’s Once in a Blue Moon x Amy the Gipsy Queen v. Saleteinshof),
at home called Mandy. Unfortunately we had to put her to sleep in March 2005. She turned out to be very influential for our tri/blue
breeding.
She produced our two homebred champions, our bluemerle dog
Nl.Int.Lux.Ger.(VDH+DCC) Champion
Blueberry Hill From
Higher Grounds
(Balou),
winner of the Simon Franzen Trophee 2001 (awarded
to the top winning bluemerle rough collie in Holland)
and his
younger
tricolour
brother
Nl.Champion
His Majesty From Higher
Grounds
(Junior),
winner of the Nea Konia Trophee 2000 & 2001
(awarded
to the top winning tricolour
rough collie in Holland)
and the
Breeders
Trophee 2002 (awarded
to the best homebred rough collie in Holland).
A son of
Junior, and therefore a grandson of Mandy, named Nl.Champion
Memory Lane From Higher Grounds,
has been very successful. He won the Collieclub trophee
2004 (awarded to the best sable rough collie). We have Brandon in co-ownership, he
lives with Han-Yin Wong.
We're very happy that we could welcome a granddaughter of Junior:
Blind Faith
Zoomerangs Paradijs and a daughter called
Dreams of
Woodland Agains all Odds

In
September 2001 the next generation arrived at our home. A daughter of Balou named
Daddy's
Girl Daisy's Collie Camora (Luna),
joined her father, uncle and
grandmother. In February 2002 Luna's
mother
Wondering Why of Slatestone
(Siouxy) joined Luna.
In March 2003 Siouxies second litter
was born,
sired by Ch. Riding's Deep in my Heart. She had her last litter by
our
Ch. His Majesty From Higher
Grounds.
In September 2003 we took Luna oversea for her first
mating partner. She was mated in England to Ch.
Lynmead Lust in the Dust and had four puppies on November
7th, 2003. In February 2005 luna was mated by People
Black de Midland Valley
and had her puppies in April 2005.
At the end of May 2005 we had the most tragic
weekend one can think of. Luna died totally unexpected, leaving five puppies
behind, six weeks old at that time. Her daughter,
Sheer Bliss From Higher
Grounds stayed and we co-own her son
Showstopper From Higher
Grounds, who lives with Anja Wong.
Black Diamond From Higher Grounds (Dushi), littersister of Ch. Blueberry Hill From Higher Grounds, had her second litter in 2002. With us stayed a tricolour bitch called Looney Tune From Higher Grounds, petname Lily. In 2003 Lily joined her dad at the 'Zoomerangs Paradijs' kennel. Dushi had her last litter in 2004 by Silvers Inspiration Yum Yum, of which a bluemerle bitch Qualified Blue From Higher Grounds (Gwen) stayed.

Because
of the illness of our Hayca,
My Golden Princess of
a New Horizon arrived
in 1995 to be the start
of our sable and white breeding. She is out of Ch. Quincey Jones of Slatestone and Malouine’s Somebody to Love. She produced three
lovely litters. The last one was by our own Satchmo,
Válinor
Icing on the Cake, a lovely sable
and white dog who is unique in his
appearance.
One daughter of Princess, from
her first litter by
Ch. Mirpet Red Baron,
Careful
Choice From Higher Grounds
(Sierra), stayed with
us.
From Sierra's last litter by Amalie By
Design in 2004 we've kept a bitch called Nl.Champion
Pure Design From Higher Grounds
(Dior).
Dior won the Collieclub trophee
2006 (awarded to the best sable rough collie) and the
Breeders
Trophee 2006 (awarded
to the best homebred rough collie in Holland).
Ch Pure
Design From Higher Grounds
had her first litther with
Ch. His Majesty From Higher
Grounds.
Of her second litter
(sire: New Wave From Higher Grounds)
Yours Truly From Higher
Grounds stayed.
We're very proud to be the only kennel who won all four Trophees, awarded by the official Dutch Collieclub, at least once with a homebred collie. Sierra is also the mother of Nl.Champion Memory Lane From Higher Grounds,
